On Saturday 12th July, we celebrated a special open day at St Paul's.

As well as the chance to sample homemade cakes and other refreshments in our café visitors were treated to guided tours of the Church, including the chance to visit the Bell Tower. There were also children's activities running all day.
There was a chance to see a display of vestments and robes, including the robes made for Dr Henry Alfred Harding, organist of St Paul's from 1889 until 1930 which were paid for by the congregation so that he could attend a Service of Celebration at St Paul’s Cathedral for the Coronation of George V, in 1911. They are the robes of the Royal College of Organists (RCO) of which he was Honorary Secretary for many years from 1908.

Also on the day, there was an organ recital, as part of our normal Saturday lunchtime series, Organist Jake Scicinski, currently visiting organist at Brentwood Cathedral treated the audience to Elgar's Imperial March, Ireland's Elegy, Menelssohn's Third Organ Sonata, Rowley's Benedictus and Bach's Prelude and Fugue in G Major.
