Following a five year fundraising appeal, the 12 bells of St Paul's, Bedford are shortly to be lowered. The church will be open to view the operation on Monday 2nd (12-4 pm) and Tuesday 3rd November (10 am-2pm). From 8-26 November, visitors will have a rare chance to view the bells at close hand before they are taken away for refurbishment. These bells, among the finest sounding in the country, date mostly to 1896/7 when they were cast by John Taylor & Co, Loughborough. The
