About the event
Maundy Thursday marks Jesus’ last day of freedom before his arrest, trial and execution nearly 2,000 years ago. This special Maundy Thursday evening Eucharist commemorates the Last Supper in the upper room, where Jesus washed the feet of his disciples, shared bread and wine, and gave thanks to God with them. In this moving service, we will wash the feet of volunteers from the congregation and share the bread and wine of the Eucharist (thanksgiving), as Jesus did.
As our service comes to a close, we follow Jesus and the disciples from the upper room to the Garden of Gethsemane and are invited to keep vigil and pray with our Lord, as he prayed prior to his betrayal by Judas and arrest.
