About the event
St Paul’s is delighted to welcome Oliver Warne-Holland, an award-winning young pianist and scholar at the Royal College of Music, where he studies with Andrew Zolinsky.
Oliver began teaching himself the piano during the first COVID-19 lockdown and, after taking formal lessons, progressed rapidly through the ABRSM grades. A former student of the Royal College of Music Junior Department, he has received several awards, including the Eileen Rowe Musical Trust Award and the Ruby White Prize in the Angela Bull Competition. He has also performed in the Elgar Room at the Royal Albert Hall.
His programme spans a rich variety of musical styles, from the virtuosity of Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsody No. 17 and the elegance of Weber's Invitation to the Dance to the contemporary soundscapes of Benjamin Davies' Opalescence and Olga Kern's State of the Soul and concludes with Debussy's radiant L'Isle joyeuse, one of the great masterpieces of the piano repertoire.
