Charity Support

St Paul's has an Outward Giving Committee responsible for the distribution this church's charity support both in the UK and overseas, on behalf of the PCC and congregation.

Each year the committee sets a target of money to be raised in order to help a range of charities, with money being raised through the sale of teas and coffees on Saturday mornings and an annual Christmas Charities Fair in November.

The charities which receive aid include the Prebend St. Day Centre in Bedford, Friends for Life (www.friendsforlifebedford.org.uk) , Bedfordshire Refugee and Asylum Support (www.brassbedford.org.uk), Action Around Bethlehem Children with Disabilities (www.abcdbethlehem.org) and the Swaziland Schools Project (www.swazilandschoolsprojects.org). Please click on the links for details of each of the charity's work.

St Paul's church offers a vital ministry to Bedford but it costs around 400 a day to keep open. We raise funds in a range of ways and are enormously grateful for the support we receive. If you shop online, one of the easiest things you can do to help us is to do your internet shopping through our fundraising portal called easyfundraising. easyfundraising gives you access to hundreds of online retailers in all sectors. Whenever you make a purchase, the retailer pays St Paul's a commission and you get your goods for the same price as you would have done by going direct to the retailer's website. easyfundraising is also really to use and can help you with your shopping by allowing you to search for the retailer's name, or by item, or by category.

See the St Paul's Church easyfundraising page to give it a go.

Christmas Tree Festival

This joint project between St Paul's and the Bedford Hospitals Charity has grown since its beginning in 2001. Some 70 Christmas trees are set up in the North and South aisles. They are decorated by local groups, schools, charities etc. Refreshments are available during the Festival. Each day there are two or three carol concerts from local school children and on the Saturday evening a full concert.

The Christmas Tree Festival this year will be held between  December 1st - December 5th.
